The building of saltern and graduation tower was begun at the beginning of the XIX century in the years: 1824-1827. Earlier in 1807, Stanisław Staszic marked borders on the map in which salty waters were to be found. With the moment of actuation of the saltern in 1827, many patients have begun to arrive to Ciechocinek. It forced the authorities to build appropriate facilities. The 30's of the XIX century began the development of Ciechocinek as a health resort. In 1836 inn with bathrooms were built. Then the so called government austeria replaced the spa house. In the left pavilion each of the four rooms contained a bathtub. In the first year as many as 120 people used the baths. That Łazienki later called Łazienki 2 or Skarbowe were found to be too narrow. They were in use till 1910. In 1912 old Łazienki nr 2 with contiguities were auctioned and got the price of 981 rb. The old Łazienki were taken to pieces after the auction. The present building of Łazienki 2 is situated at the corner of B. Raczyńskich street (the old Dębowa street). It was built in years 1910-1992. It was designed by Waldemar Fedders, graduate student of Academy of Fine Arts in Petersburgh. Fedders also designed concert shell in Park Zdrojowy. The edifice of The Highest House of Control in Warsaw, and the house situated in the Aleje Jerozolimskie 79 also in Warsaw. They were of his authorship. The first project of Łazienki 2 was announced in the 18.07.1909. In 1910 plans of new Łazienki 2 were not approved and they had to be altered. The new cost calculation was estimated at 119940 rb. It was confirmed in the 28.10.1910. Łazienki were built in an economic way without promulgating auctions and the necessity of confirming the cost calculation by minister of trade and industry. Building operations were conducted by the company of Czosnowski and Co. The actual cost of building was estimated at 114 thousands rb.

The building was designed in the Romanesque. He was erected on the throw of rectangle with the prominent projection in the central part and also smaller projections at the sides. Smaller projections are finished with the merlon. Central projection was topped by the triangular top. Four-slope roofs were covered with tile. On the ground floor, Łazienki possessed cabins with 24 enamelled bathtubs for mud-baths and muddy baths. Muddy baths took a close resemblance to Russian pattern with separate cabins for having a rest. Upstairs salt baths were held, there were 60 bathtubs. In the new pavilion electro-healing ward was organized. Throughout the whole length of the left-wing there were stretched: waiting room, doctor's study, and a corridor to which left side were adherent six rooms. Each room was equipped with the healing apparatus. One, bigger hall was situated next to the waiting room in front of the corridor entrance. The hall was designed for heliotherapy-healing by using quartz and sollux lamps. In the forth hall, from the left side of the corridor, there were placed apparatuses for electric baths. In the rooms 1 and 2 there were apparatuses used to heal with hot air. In the third hall apparatuses to warming up an abdomen. The rest of the halls, were devoted to diathermy that used to be very attractive for patients. In the right wing of the Łazienki, vapour - bath was placed. In 1928 the left wing of the building was rebuild, the attic was equipped with windows and new rooms for patients were added in the attic. From the south the roof was raised and the corridor was lit by new windows. In 1959-63 the decoration of the main entrance was changed. On the landing, next to the staircase, new rooms were added; the hall was rebuilt, and from the courtyard's side 2 new strings in order to improve kelter of the peloid interventions. The object was written down to the register of relics 59/496/A according to the decision of the Provincial Restorer of Relics in Bydgoszcz 23.11.1964.
